From Leadville: Drive south on Highway 24 to the town of Granite and continue for nearly 4 miles to reach County Road 388, on the right. From Buena Vista: Starting at the Main Street stop light, drive 13 miles north on highway 24 to reach County Road 388, on the left. Turn onto CR 388 (dirt) and measure from here. Drive approx. 0.3 miles and stay left at a junction. Turn right at 0.6 miles and continue 0.1 additional on a more narrow, rugged stretch to reach the trailhead.
Parking: Room for 6-7 vehicles at the trailhead and 5+ more back down the road a bit. Camping: A few dispersed spots down the road but not much else in the area. Restrooms: No Fees: No
